Asking Google to index your page

I stumbled on a discussion on Twitter and saw you can ask Google to index a specific page that you just wrote, so it’s indexed (added to the Google results) faster.

I think this is only useful for new websites, so as I’m working on a new website I figured I’d test it.

Assuming you have set up your domain on Google Search Console (do it if not) go on URL inspection and enter the page you want to be indexed at the top, press enter to see this appear:

Click “Request indexing”, wait a few seconds… done!
