About this tool
Hard drive labels use decimal SI units: 1 TB = 1,000 GB. Windows uses binary math while labeling the result as GB, so a 1 TB SSD appears as about 931 GB there. The space is not missing; the units differ.
ISPs quote download speeds in megabits per second. File sizes use megabytes. Divide by eight to compare them fairly.
This converter shows decimal, binary, and bit units side by side. The transfer table estimates download time at common link speeds with rough protocol overhead — real throughput still varies.
