I run flaviocopes.com. This page explains what data the site handles and why.

You can read the site, use most tools, and take the free courses without creating an account. I do not sell your personal data.

Information you give me

When you join the newsletter, I receive your email address. I use it to send the newsletter and give you access to the download library. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. The newsletter list is stored on a server in the EU.

When you buy a course, Paddle handles the payment. I receive the customer and purchase details needed to deliver the course, maintain access, send transactional emails, and help if something goes wrong. I do not receive or store your complete card details.

If you email me, I receive your address and everything you include in the message. I use that information to reply and resolve your request.

Analytics and server data

I use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and which pages people use. Plausible does not use tracking cookies or follow you across different websites.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. Like other hosting and security providers, it processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL, and request time. It may use necessary cookies to protect the site from abusive traffic.

Cookies and browser storage

After you join the newsletter, the site can store aflaviocopes_downloads_access cookie for one year. It only remembers that this browser can open the download library. It does not contain your email address.

Free courses save progress and preferences in your browser. This data stays on your device unless a page clearly tells you otherwise. You can remove it through your browser settings.

Services that process data

I use Cloudflare for hosting and security, Plausible for analytics, Sendy for newsletter subscriptions, Paddle for payments, Resend for transactional email, Airtable for some course-access records, and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect forms from spam.

These services process only the information needed for their part of the site. Their own privacy policies also apply when they handle your data.

Why I process data

I use your consent for the newsletter, the purchase agreement to deliver paid products and course access, and legitimate interests to secure the site, understand aggregate use, and reply to messages. I also keep records when accounting or other laws require it.

How long I keep data

I keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe. I keep purchase and course records as long as needed to provide access, meet accounting obligations, and resolve problems. Service and security logs follow the retention rules of the provider that stores them.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in every email. You can also ask me to show, correct, or delete personal information I control. Some purchase records may need to be kept when the law requires it.
