Reading-time badges set expectations. Most adults read silently at roughly 200–250 words per minute; podcasters and presenters often plan around 150 WPM. This tool counts words the same way most CMS dashboards do — whitespace-separated tokens.
Sentence splitting uses simple punctuation rules. Bullet lists and abbreviations can skew averages. Use the longest-sentence callout as a editing hint, not a grammar verdict.
