About this tool

The split follows the HTML Standard for text/event-stream. The body is UTF-8. One leading BOM, U+FEFF, is removed. Lines end on CRLF, LF, or CR. An empty line dispatches the current block. A comment line starts with a colon and is ignored. The field name is the text before the first colon. One leading space after that colon is removed. A line with no colon is a field whose value is empty.

Field names are case-sensitive. data appends its value plus a line feed. On dispatch, one trailing line feed is removed. An empty data buffer does not dispatch. The event type defaults tomessage when the block never set event. Anid that contains a null character is ignored. An empty id clears the id buffer. The id reported on an event is the one committed by the blank line.

retry is applied when that field line is read, and only when the value is one or more ASCII digits and a safe integer.03000 is read as 3000 milliseconds. Unknown fields are ignored. The end of the text drops a block that never got a blank line, even if retry from that block was already applied. This page reads one complete string. It does not join a chunk that was cut across packets. After 30 notes, further notes are omitted.
